Job Title: FinOps Specialist

Role Description

Overview

The role is to support and deliver the high-end consultancy services into enterprise organisations especially in the key areas of Cloud cost visibility, rate and usage optimisation, and FinOps enablement.

The Specialist will work directly with the Client to progress their FinOps function. There will be a variety of analytical and data management tasks working with technical, financial, and commercial client data which will be varied and originate from various sources.

The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK, be a UK resident for a minimum of 5 years and be able to attain UK Government SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Specialist include:

• Identifying, collating, and analysing the current cost and usage within the client environment.
• Research and identification of most major technologies used in the estate.
• Reporting risks, recommendations, and opportunities in the environment.
• Receiving, storing, organising, and managing data into the relevant tools or templates.
• Recognition, normalisation, and other data management tasks.
• Analysing data and datasets.
• Supporting the improved maturity journey of FinOps in the customer organisation.
• FinOps education/evangelism within the customer.
• Generating reporting of data aligned to operational and business needs.
• Working with a variety of in-house and third-party tools.
• Contribute to the development and on-going improvement of FinOps and data related processes.

Experience & Skills

Essential:

• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• In-depth understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating systems
• Good understanding of the FinOps Framework.
• Data handling and analysis experience gained from a FinOps perspective.
• FinOps Certified Practitioner qualification

Desirable:

• Technical / architectural background with cost-conscious design mindset
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Cloud vendor specific experience with practitioner level certification (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle, etc.)
• Project Management
• Cloud computing data handling and analysis
• Experience of specific FinOps tools (e.g. Flexera, CloudHealth, Cloudability, Anodot)
• Experience in GreenOps
• FinOps Certified Professional (or willingness to complete)

Qualifications/Experience

• Degree (BSc/BA or equivalent) or relevant IT experience
• You may have gained relevant experience from a variety of backgrounds and for the right person we will provide training and support to help you become successful in this role.

Languages

• English: excellent verbal and written skills are essential.
• EU languages desirable but no essential: German, Italian, French, Spanish
